Update 1.60.0

Patch notes are written in English only — the same text the game shows in every language.

You must update your client to log in. Close the game and the launcher, then reopen the launcher and press PLAY. On Steam the update is automatic. This one is a big download: most of the world has new art.

You'll notice this update before you take a single step. The world has been repainted from the city squares to the deepest dungeon, the water flows, and a few old acquaintances came back with new bodies. Then the practical side: your talent branch is no longer forever, the trade window just got a lot roomier, and the arena now takes duels.

A World Repainted

42 maps — Aresden and Elvine, the farms and gardens, Middleland and its mine, the hunting grounds, Icebound, the dungeons, the arenas, the Tower of Hell and the road to Abaddon — have been repainted in the style of the Temple. Rivers and lakes flow and lava churns; Animated Water can be set to High, Low or Off in the Graphics tab of the system menu, and by default it picks a level for your graphics card. Indoors, the Shop, Wizard Tower, Blacksmith, Warehouse, City Hall, Command Hall and Guild Hall got the same treatment, with live fire, and shadows across the world are now soft and grounded. The Dragon, Minotaur, Nizie and Giant Crayfish were rebuilt with far more fluid animation — worth another look on your next hunt.

1v1 Arena Duels

The Arenas button in F5 now opens 1v1 next to 2v2. Type a player's name, set the rules and a Gold wager, and send the challenge: they can accept, change the terms and send them back, decline, or block your future invitations. Nothing starts until both of you agree. Protection From Magic, Absolute Magic Protect., Berserk and Protection From Arrow can each be left free, limited to 1-10 casts per player, or banned, and ascended Detect Invisibility and bows can be banned too. Both fighters must be level 140 or higher. Inside there's no Recall, Resurrection, Zemstone of Rebirth or consumables, three invisibilities each, and no Special Abilities. The wager is capped at 1,000,000 Gold per player: the winner takes the pot minus 5%, and a draw at 15:00 or a server restart returns it to both. Duels have no rating or ladder.

Switch Your Talent Branch

Your talent branch is no longer a lifetime decision. From the talent window you can switch to the other branch for 200,000 Gold, after standing still out of combat for 10 seconds.

Bigger Trades

The trade window now holds 16 items per side in a 4x4 grid, each side is easier to read, and the final confirmation lists exactly what you give and what you get. You're told when the other player confirms or can't carry the load. Bound items can't be added, and trade requests and item gifts only reach players you can see on screen.

New

  • Coin Shop: Change Model, a free service. Turn your Coin Shop cape into the Combatant Cape look, or your Shoes into Boots, keeping dye and Merien upgrades. The Combatant Cape is also sold in the Coin Shop with the same bonus and price as the Coin Shop Cape (+40% Experience, +60% Gold).
  • Guild, Friends, Party, Talents, the 2v2 Arena, News and more windows can be bound to a key in Key bindings (Ctrl+F).
  • Ctrl+Z shows or hides the monster icons on the minimap pits.
  • Hold Shift over a monster to see its Tier, colored by how dangerous it is for your level: green, yellow, orange or red.
  • Captains can accept new guild members: applicants hand them a Guild Admission Ticket when the Guildmaster is offline.
  • When a guild's name means something, nameplates show it translated into your language, in a small grey line under the guild.
  • Spell tooltips show who each spell can be cast on.
  • Your player reports appear under My tickets as a record. Staff reviews every one; reports don't get a reply.
  • The website rankings have a Builds tab with the most played talent pairs.
  • A loading bar while you enter the world or change maps. Until it finishes you are hidden and can't be attacked.

Changed

  • Haste costs 90 mana (was 60).
  • Short Sword and Dagger dashes reach at most one tile instead of a tile and a half, so you need to be closer to dash.
  • The Invisibility Potion can be used once every 30 seconds. The timer survives logging out, and a potion that can't be used isn't consumed.
  • Health and Mana Siphoning scale with the monster's health again: small monsters restore less, big kills still restore the full amount.
  • Summon Creature can no longer be cast on enemies.
  • The reputation cooldown is shared by every character on your account.
  • High-tier monsters give more experience, matched to how hard they are to kill.
  • The EXP Boost runs four times a week. The new window is Saturday 12:00 UTC, Saturday evening in Asia.
  • Quests never ask for more kills than there are monsters alive on the map (for example Unicorn 75-100 to 20-25, Helclaw 100 to 25). Quest Gold now follows how long a quest takes and its tier: tier 10-11 quests pay 140,000-235,000, short tier 7 quests 30,000-55,000, and a full round of quests pays 4.8% less in total.
  • The Dragon, Tiger Worm, Helclaw, Fire Wyvern and Wyvern no longer drop Big Health, Big Mana or Big Revitalizing Potions. The Ettin drops the Ring of Thirst far more often.
  • Bound items can no longer be used as ingredients in crafting, alchemy, manufacturing, Blacksmith upgrades or spell ascension. The Stone of Merien is the exception.
  • Stones of Xelima, Stones of Merien and Zemstones of Rebirth bought from the Coin Shop from now on are not bound. The ones bought before stay bound.
  • Raw Mithral sells to shops for 500 Gold (was 25), and metal bars and the other mining materials can be sold again.
  • Rare spell manuals that only drop from monsters show their name in orange.
  • The "Are you still there?" check also appears when you farm on the move, and you answer it by clicking the matching item.
  • In some farming spots, players far above the level of the monsters there can be chased by an Illusion. Dodge it or strike it with a weapon. Each hit leaves you Dazed for 60 seconds: slower attacks and casts and more damage taken, stacking up to four times. Repeated hits within 24 hours escalate up to a temporary ban.
  • An account that gets a second automatic kick within 24 hours is banned for 24 hours.

Improved

  • Clicking any window brings it to the front, also over your bag and storage.
  • Necklaces are bigger and easier to read in your bag, and the Earth Protection and Earth Elemental necklaces have their own look.
  • The Auction House shows sellers' full names.
  • The Cult daily can be hidden from the quest tracker like any other quest, and its tracker updates as soon as the requested item enters or leaves your bag.
  • Clicking the ground while fishing asks before you stop, and a long press on your cast no longer walks you away.
  • With Always run on, holding Shift makes you walk until you let go.
  • Right-clicking your own hero targets the monster your body is covering, so you can hit a small one standing right behind you.
  • AltGr + 1-9 / 0 opens the spellbook on that circle, same as Ctrl.
  • The seconds counter on the left follows the server's clock, so everyone sees the same second.
  • The F5 combat tab shows your total Phys. Hit Ratio.
  • Death Valley and Silent Wood keep every monster species in their pits.
  • Smoother with many players on screen, and the Chinese texts were revised throughout.

Fixed

  • Crashes when returning to character selection after a disconnect, when your audio device changes, and a rare one while moving around the map.
  • A brief server-wide freeze that happened once an hour.
  • Players whose connection switches networks between login and game (some ISPs, accelerators and mobile data) can enter the world.
  • A few spots in Middleland and Elvine that looked like grass but blocked movement.
  • Spell effects that stopped showing up after long fights with lots of field spells around.
  • Pretend Corpse looking like you stood up when someone walked over you.
  • Other players' staffs skipping between steps while running, and shadows pulsing while walking.
  • Two characters ending a step on top of each other.
  • Interiors showing the wrong time of day when you opened the game at night.
  • Crafted Slates refused by the Shared Bank, and crafting now tells you when you're carrying too much weight.
  • Withdrawing gold, coins or items claiming your bag was full when they'd stack onto a pile you already have.
  • Chat translation skipping some messages, or translating a language you chose not to translate.
  • The Overcharge tooltip now states that its +10% damage applies to Lightning spells only.
