Update 1.59.0

Patch notes are written in English only — the same text the game shows in every language.

You must update your client to log in. Close the game and the launcher, then reopen the launcher and press PLAY. On Steam the update is automatic.

The world just got a lot bigger, and not on the map: Helbreath Evolution now speaks ten languages, and chat translates between all of them. The churches of Aresden and Elvine have become Temples with a cult of their own and a daily quest to offer, and the town's buildings have been rebuilt inside, by day and by night.

New

Four new languages. Russian, Polish, Japanese and Traditional Chinese join English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Korean and Simplified Chinese. Everything is translated: menus, items, spells, maps, NPC dialogue, tips, the Lore in Help (F1), the website and the wiki. The town's NPCs, the guards, the High Priest and the arena announcer are voiced in Russian, Polish and Japanese, and Traditional Chinese uses the Mandarin voices. Pick your language with the flags in the launcher or in F12; on Steam, the game starts in your Steam language until you choose one yourself. Japanese and Chinese text now wraps without breaking a line before a closing mark, and searches in the Auction House, banks, Item Drops and crafting ignore upper and lower case in every alphabet.

Chat speaks all ten. Automatic chat translation now covers every language above and stays free for everyone. A new F12 option lets you leave chosen languages untranslated. On very busy days the shared daily allowance can run out; if it does, you'll see a notice that translation is paused until the next day. F12 > Chat also has a new Profanity filter option, on by default: turn it off to read chat and its translations exactly as written. It only changes what you see, and the chat rules still apply.

The Temples and their cult. The churches are now the Temple of Aresien and the Temple of Eldiniel, rebuilt from the ground up as the sanctuary of their cult, with their own music. Six cultists kneel in each one before a High Priest who has a story to tell: the first time you speak to him he tells it, and you can watch it again from his menu. Until you've seen it, the Temple is marked on your minimap. Inside, you can only walk, in peace mode: no running, casting or dancing. Recall needs no spell there, just hold still for 3 seconds, and the exit portals take you straight back to town.

Daily cult quests. Citizens of Aresden and Elvine can take one daily quest from the High Priest of their nation: two or three hunts on different maps plus one monster part as an offering, matched to your level. Rewards are gold, experience and, from the 31-60 bracket upward, Event Tokens. Each character can take a new one 16 hours after turning one in, and abandoning costs nothing. In a party, each kill goes to a random member on the same map who saw the monster die. Demon parts now drop more often: Demon Heart 1/5000 → 1/1429, Demon Eye 1/2000 → 1/1429, Demon Meat 1/1000 → 1/500.

A town reborn. The Blacksmith, the General Shop, the City Hall, the Warehouse, the Wizard Tower, the Guild Hall and the Command Hall have brand-new interiors, most of them with a night version that follows the in-game clock. Tom, Marigold, Barnaby, William, Thaddeus, Howard, the Guild Keeper and the Sorcerer have been rebuilt in 3D: the forge burns, Tom's hammer rings on every strike, and Barnaby has a new spot in the City Hall. Marigold, the General Shop keeper, now fills your HP, MP and hunger every time you talk to her, for free.

New key bindings window. Ctrl+F opens a new window where you can see and change every key in the game, on a drawn keyboard, with named profiles. Drag one key onto another to swap them. Keys are read by their position on your keyboard and shown with the name your own layout gives them, and the HUD, the loot window, chat, tips and the wiki show the key you actually use. The WASD movement option now lives there instead of in F12, and your existing bindings carry over.

Monsters. The Tiger Worm, the Helclaw and the Tentocle have been remastered, and the Tiger Worm has its own casting animation.

Changed

  • Concentration now rolls once when you start a spell instead of on every hit: (3 × Int + Vit − 300) / 10, capped at 35%. When it triggers, hits no longer break that cast; only knockbacks, stuns and burning still do. High-Int casters gain a lot (150 Int / 50 Vit goes from 10% per hit to 20% per cast), but if 3 × Int + Vit is 300 or less your chance is now 0%. Your Concentration chance shows in the Combat tab of F5, with a breakdown on hover.
  • Armor "Reduce damage by" (+N) now only counts the piece that was hit, instead of the sum of every piece: chest 50% of hits, legs and boots 25%, arms 15%, head 10%. Shields reduce only when they block, and capes no longer count. Example: six pieces at +5 used to remove 30 damage per hit; now it's about 6 on average. F5 shows the average with a per-zone breakdown.
  • Recall is locked for 10 seconds after any attack from another player, even one that misses or is absorbed by a shield. The landing points of Recall in Aresden and Elvine are safe zones again.
  • Deep Sunder (Axe) adds +2% physical damage per stack whenever that beats its Physical Absorption reduction.
  • Dungeon L2 pits hold fewer monsters: most go from 30-42 to 10-15. The Giant Scorpion pits in both farms move and drop from 15 to 8.
  • Auto-pickup no longer picks up regular Health, Mana and Revitalizing Potions; Big and Super potions still go straight to your bag.
  • Guards can now see invisible players.
  • Mob specialty kills in a party are drawn at random among the members who witnessed the kill, instead of going to whoever landed the final blow.
  • Arena matches: angels no longer grant Berserk or Absolute Magic Protection, Invisibility is never ascended, the Sword of Heavens special attack can't be used and slates are paused while you fight. When a match ends you return to the exact spot you entered from, even if you disconnected. Queuing for 2v2 no longer bounces you while you're in combat or invisible: the queue waits and lets you in as soon as you can.
  • Auction House: items that a town shop sells as-is (no prefix, upgrade or enchantment) can no longer be listed. Sell is sorted by rarity and shows the real weight. New filters by rarity (name colour) and by M / W armour, My Listings and My Bids always show everything, and the history shows the real name of every item, including Fragments, Shards and potion percentages.
  • Neutral travelers can't take the farm portal while a character of the opposing side is online from the same account or computer.
  • Holding the attack button in one spot for a long time no longer triggers an automatic warning: you get a quick "Are you still there?" check instead.
  • Leaving a building no longer drops you right next to its entrance.

Improved

  • Crafting has a Craft All button that queues everything your materials allow, and turns into Stop while it runs.
  • The spellbook (F7) has a gear to pick your own colors for castable, out-of-mana, unavailable, ascended, hover and item-granted spells.
  • Large gold amounts show as K and M (175K, 1.5M) in your bag, bank, Shared Bank and Guild Warehouse, and amount fields show the short form as you type.
  • Item amounts in mail attachments and trades are white and easy to read.
  • The guild Members tab shows each member's level and rebirth count.
  • Joining the Global Party opens its member list right away, and the Join link is off while you're already in a party.
  • F12 > Interface can hide monster pits on the minimap and the world map, also with an assignable key.
  • Zemstone tooltips explain what they do when you die. Black Dye now dyes black, and Gold Dye gives a deeper gold.
  • Enchant Shards, Enchant Fragments and potions have cleaner icons.
  • Computers with integrated graphics now load the sharper art when they can.
  • Your shadow starts right at your feet, and in the Temples it falls the same way as the light from the stained glass.
  • Enemy Kill screenshots capture the exact frame of the killing blow.

Fixed

  • Gandalf, Kennedy and Gail no longer vanish on the lowest graphics setting, and the blacksmith, shopkeeper and warehouse keeper are back behind their counters.
  • Clicking a town NPC always opens it, even with someone standing behind.
  • Archery side shots no longer hit the archer.
  • Crafted gear no longer shows a maximum Endurance of 0.
  • Monsters find their way around long cliffs and ridges, and a melee monster that can't reach whoever is hitting it falls back to recover instead of standing still.
  • Two party join requests at the same time no longer leave one of them hanging.
  • A rare case where a purchase took your money without delivering the item.
