Affixes / Enchant Prefixes

Prefixes (15)

Critical

Adds its number as flat damage to every Super attack you land with the weapon. Ordinary swings get nothing from it, and it does not make Super attacks come more often.

Cannot be raised — it stays as it dropped

Poisoning

A hit that connects can poison the target, which then loses health every few seconds: a share of the health it has left, plus a little more the higher the number. A target that is already poisoned is not poisoned again, players can shrug it off with Poison Resistance, and poison never finishes a player — it stops at 1 HP.

Righteous

Adds up to +10 physical damage to every hit, scaled by your own Reputation: nothing at zero or negative Reputation, the full +10 once you reach 10,000. It reads your Reputation at the moment of each hit, so it grows as your Reputation does.

Agile

The weapon swings one step faster. For attack speed that is worth exactly 13 points of Str: you reach the weapon's fastest swing with 13 less Str than it normally asks. If your Str already gets you to the fastest swing, this property adds nothing.

Light

Lowers the Str this piece asks for by its percentage — the Str to wear it and, on a weapon, the Str needed for its fastest swing. It does not make the piece weigh less in your bag. Capes no longer roll it: they ask for no Str.

Sharp

+1 damage on every physical hit, added to the weapon's own damage before Str and talents multiply it — and +1 to the damage of every spell you cast while it is equipped. The tooltip folds it into the Damage line. Pieces that dropped before the rebalance keep the higher physical number they rolled.

Strong

Raises the piece's maximum durability by its percentage. It adds no damage and no defence — the piece simply lasts longer between repairs. Capes no longer roll it: a cape never wears down.

Ancient

+2 damage on every physical hit, added to the weapon's own damage before Str and talents multiply it, and +2 to the damage of every spell you cast while it is equipped. The piece also has slightly more durability. Pieces that dropped before the rebalance keep the higher physical number they rolled.

Special

Adds its number to your chance of getting a spell off. It only matters while that chance is below 100%: at 100% a spell never fails and this property adds nothing. It does not raise spell damage, and it does not help a spell get past the target's resistance.

Mana Converting

When you take damage and survive, you get that percentage of the damage back as mana. It counts the damage you receive, not the damage you deal. All your pieces add together, but the total stops at 13%: anything above that does nothing, even though Enchanting lets a single piece show a higher number.

Crushing

Adds its percentage to your Crush chance, rolled on every physical hit and on every instance of spell damage. Luck is the other source of Crush chance; the two add up, to a ceiling of 100%. Do not confuse it with Critical, which only adds damage to Super attacks.

Health Siphoning

Each time you kill a monster you heal that percentage of your own maximum HP — less for a weak monster, the full amount for a tough one. It triggers on the kill, not on every hit, and never when you kill a player. It is permanent: it cannot be enchanted and it yields no shard.

Mana Siphoning

Each time you kill a monster you recover that percentage of your own maximum MP — less for a weak monster, the full amount for a tough one. It triggers on the kill, not on every hit, and never when you kill a player. It is permanent: it cannot be enchanted and it yields no shard.

Experience

Adds its percentage to the experience you earn, both from kills and from the damage you deal. It adds together with every other piece that has it and with the Experience secondary property. Mining experience is not affected.

Gold

Monsters you kill drop that much more gold. It raises the amount, not how often gold drops, and it adds together with the Gold secondary property.

Poison Resistance

Adds to your chance of shrugging poison off when it is applied, and of clearing it on its own while it is ticking.

Hitting Probability

Adds flat points to your hit ratio for physical attacks — and to your spells' chance of getting past the target's magic resistance, so it is worth as much to a mage as to a fighter.

Defense Ratio

Adds points to your Defense Ratio, so physical attacks miss you more often. It does nothing against spells.

Magic Resistance

Adds to your chance of resisting a spell outright. Against another player's Paralyze only the resistance on your gear counts — your skill and your Mag do not — so this is the property that keeps you moving.

Physical Absorption

Reduces the physical damage you take by its percentage, but only where the hit lands: each armour piece protects its own body part, and a shield's share applies only when the shield blocks. The ceiling is 80% per body part. Capes no longer roll it, and on an older cape that carries it, it has no effect.

Crush Damage

Makes your Crushes hit harder: its percentage is added on top of the normal Crush bonus. On a weapon it boosts physical Crushes only; on a wand it also boosts spell Crushes by the same amount.
