Levels and stats

After this page you will know how to gain levels, how to spend your points, and how to get past the wall at level 19.

Experience and levels

Every monster you beat gives you experience. Players write EXP. Watch the thin green line along the top of your bottom bar. When it is full, you gain a level.

A higher level means more health, more mana and more stamina. It also gives you 3 points to spend.

Bigger monsters give more experience, but they hit harder. Start small.

Spending your points

  1. Press F5 to open Character.
  2. Press the button Level Set. at the bottom.
  3. The Character window closes and a window called Level Up Settings opens. The line Points left: shows how many points you have. Add them to the stats you want.
  4. Press OK.

There is a shortcut. While you have points to spend, a Level Up! button waits on the right side of the screen, just above the bottom bar. Click it and Level Up Settings opens right away.

The window also has a Majestic button. You can ignore it for now.

The Character window (F5) with the Level Set. button, and the Level Up! button on the right side of the screen.
The Character window. Level Set. is at the bottom.
The Level Up Settings window with points left to spend.
Level Up Settings: Points left: is what you can still spend. Add your points, then press OK.

What each stat does

There are six stats. A stat is a number that makes your hero better at one thing.

StatWhat it does
StrengthYou hit harder with weapons, and you can carry more.
VitalityYou have more health, and it comes back faster.
DexterityYour hits land more often, and you are harder to hit.
IntelligenceYou can learn stronger spells.
MagicYou have more mana, and your spells hit harder.
LuckYou get lucky crushing hits and better loot.

Do not be scared of choosing wrong. A Stat Change Ticket lets you move your points later.

Skills grow by themselves

Skills are different from stats. A skill is how good you are at one action: swinging a long sword, casting magic, fishing. You never spend points on them. They go up when you use them. Press F8 to see yours.

Talents

At level 10 you choose your first talent, and at level 40 your second. A talent is a set of special powers that makes your hero different from everyone else's. Open them with F5 and the Talents button. When a talent is waiting for you, a Talents! button also appears on the right side of the screen.

The wall at level 19

You will stop at level 19 until you do two things. Both are free.

  1. Join a city. A new hero belongs to no one. The game calls you a traveler. A traveler cannot reach level 20.
  2. Verify your email. Click the link in the message the game sent you.

Your experience is not thrown away. Fix the thing that is missing and keep hunting.

The Your first hour page shows you how to join a city.

Try it now

  1. Beat a Slime. Your first levels come very fast.
  2. Click Level Up!, or press F5 and then Level Set., and spend your points.
  3. Press F8 and find the skill for the weapon you are holding.
  4. Check your email. Is it verified?
