Update 1.61.0

Patch notes are written in English only — the same text the game shows in every language.

You must update your client to log in. Close the game and the launcher, then reopen the launcher and press PLAY. On Steam the update is automatic.

The world got a fresh coat of paint last update, so this one hands you the dimmer switch. Tune the light to your taste, pick lighter art if your machine needs it, and keep moving when two monsters try to box you in.

Your Light, Your Way

F12 has a new Brightness tab: presets plus brightness, contrast, and separate brightness and detail controls for the ground, so the brightest maps are easier on the eyes. Saturation now goes down to 60%.

Lighter Art When You Need It

New Texture Quality option in F12 → Graphics. Low loads lighter art for less video memory and faster map loads. It takes effect after restarting the game. If your PC has 8 GB of RAM or less, the game now picks the lighter textures on its own, and switches to them by itself if it runs out of memory.

Changed

  • Holding Shift to walk while Always run is on is now an option, Shift to walk, in F12 → Gameplay. It is off by default, and you can also bind a key to it in Ctrl+F.
  • The Illusions' behaviour has been adjusted.

Improved

  • Insert and Delete drink your potions while the chat line is open, so you can call for help and heal at the same time.
  • The town's NPCs stand in their pool of light again.
  • Cleaner streets in Aresden and Elvine, and a tidier City Hall at night.

Fixed

  • Two monsters at your sides can no longer trap you: you can slip out diagonally between them again.
  • Hunting quests showing more kills than required (like 90/20) now complete on their own, so you can turn them in.
  • Ctrl-clicking your own hero no longer swings at thin air when nothing is standing behind you.
  • Your character now stops the casting pose when a hit interrupts the spell.
